Authorities: Ohio woman dies in Michigan snowmobile crash

SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say an Ohio woman has died in a snowmobile crash in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

The Marquette County sheriff’s department says 39-year-old Melissa Thornhill of Greenville was riding Monday on a trail in Sands Township when she lost control and hit a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Thornhill was traveling behind her husband at the time of the crash, which is under investigation.
