DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Three men are in police custody after a standoff with Dayton Police and Dayton SWAT teams.

The three men, 26-year-old Christopher Smith, 26-year-old Demarco Smith and 27-year-old Mark Anthony Smith were arrested after leading police on a chase Tuesday.

Police say the suspects forced their way into a home in the 700 block of Mia Avenue.

It started after police tried to stop a car the suspects were riding in. The men fled from police before switching vehicles and fleeing, once more, before arriving at a Mia Avenue residence, and barging in.

The three men eventually surrendered to police.

Hostage negotiators from the Dayton Police Department were also on the scene.

The two people who were inside the residence escaped, unharmed.

Police say the three men are looking at charges of failure to comply and aggravated burglary for entering the home.

A neighbors in the area said such an incident is “unusual”.
