2nd defendant admits guilt in bomb attack on NY prison guard

UTICA, N.Y. (AP) — An Ohio woman has joined her husband in pleading guilty to charges stemming from an explosion that injured a New York state prison guard outside his home.

Sixty-one-year-old Donna Seppi pleaded guilty to conspiracy in Oneida County Court on Wednesday. Her husband, 58-year-old Keith Seppi, pleaded guilty to assault on Tuesday.

They and Donna Seppi’s sister, 58-year-old Cindy Shields, all of Conneaut, Ohio, were charged after Corrections Officer Alan Dobransky was injured by a bomb in a package outside his Utica-area home in May.

Authorities say the attack was intended to stop Dobransky from reporting an elder care scam against his mother in Ohio.

Shields’ case is still pending.

Keith Seppi will be sentenced to 20 years in state prison. His wife faces 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison.
