DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Officials say that while nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease continues to be a woman’s greatest health threat.

During the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women luncheon, guests will have an opportunity to participate in health screenings and interact with healthcare professionals about topics like blood pressure, cholesterol, fitness, nutrition, and stroke prevention.

The event takes place May 2 from 10 am until 1 pm at the Sinclair Community College Ponitz Center, will be co-emceed by WDTN’s own Julia Palazzo and Kim Farris of iHeartMedia, and will also feature keynote speaker Karen M.R. Townsend, Ph.D.

The 2019 Go Red for Women Luncheon is nationally sponsored by CVS Health with Premier Health as the local cause sponsor.
