Liza Mahachek joined Dayton’s CW Living Dayton team in June 2022.
While she was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, her family tree has roots in Dayton. Her mother grew up in Kettering, and Liza’s parents met at UD.
Liza went to the University of Missouri where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Journalism and Theatre. Liza loves to highlight stories in the community that might not always be recognized. She worked at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Missouri, as a multimedia journalist, Morning Producer/Anchor, and Lifestyle Reporter. Through this she got to know Mid-Missouri quite well and she’s excited to get to know Dayton even better!
In her spare time, Liza likes to sing, dance and act. She loves meeting new people, Musical Theatre, dogs and trips to Target. Her favorite stress relievers are cycling, reading or walking the trails – if you see her doing any of these please feel free to say hi!
