DETAILS: A winter storm is heading toward the Miami Valley. We'll see rain and freezing rain to start through the evening hours on Thursday. Sleet and freezing rain are likely throughout the overnight hours and into the Friday morning commute. Snow gradually begins to develop northwest and sink southward throughout the day. The transition to snow will likely occur around lunchtime for the Dayton area. Heavy snowfall will follow through the afternoon and evening. Cold air sinks southward and lows will start in the teens early Saturday morning.
