DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A long time staple of Miami Valley cuisine is going on the auction block Thursday.
The Stockyards Inn on Springfield Street closed in June after more than 100 years of operation.
The auctioneer's web site says the restaurant and everything in it will be sold as one lot on Thursday.
The Stockyards Inn was once the place to eat some of the best prime rib in town.
In the 1900s, cattlemen would take their cattle, sheep and pigs to sell them there. The parking lot was a corral for the animals.
The cattlemen could then spend the night in one of the rooms upstairs.
The Stockyards Inn was also known for its Cherrywood bar that proudly displayed the bullets lodged in the wood from shots fired in the 1900s.
Doors open for the auction at 5:00 pm for you to take one last look and reminisce.
The auction begins at 6:00 pm.
The Stockyards Inn is located at 1065 Springfield Street.
