ZANESFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - The northern part of the Miami Valley is cleaning up snow in Logan and Champaign counties. t's getting some people excited about winter activities. .
Last week it was shorts and sun but today in Logan county people grabbed the shovels and snowballs. About three inches of snow fell and stuck to many grassy surfaces. Even parking lots were full of slush.
At Mad River Mountain even with the snow the ski lifts sit idle. The snow is a nice surprise and employees are hoping this snowfall gets people itching to head to the slopes.
General Manager of Mad River Mountain Greg Fisher says, "It's a little too early to get things going just yet for the season but it makes people get excited - tomorrow's Halloween ski season is upon us we're getting ready here."
Fisher hopes the weather cooperates this year and stays cold enough for snow making. Mad River Mountain traditionally opens the second weekend in December.
