(WDTN) - Three road and bridge closures scheduled to begin Monday, July 15 will affect traffic in three counties.
Bridge replacement on U.S. 68 over Lytle Creek in Clinton County will require U.S. 68 to be closed between Woodland Drive and Creekside Drive for approximately 45 days beginning Monday, July 15.
The detour for northbound U.S. 68 traffic will be U.S. 68 to SR 134 to CR 89 (Airborne Road) to Progress Way to U.S. 22, back to U.S. 68. Southbound traffic will use the same detour in reverse. A designated local detour route will also be posted.
In Butler County, culvert replacement will require closing State Route 503 south of Tolbert Road, between SR 73 and SR 744, and local traffic will be maintained. State Route 503 will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday,July 15 until 3 p.m. Friday, July 19.
The detour for northbound SR 503 traffic will be west on SR 73 to north on U.S. 127 to east on SR 744, back to SR 503. Southbound traffic will use the same detour in reverse. The detour is an additional three miles or approximately six minutes.
In Miami County, the Phase II reconstruction of CR 25A between Country Club Road and Looney Rd. in the city of Piqua is scheduled to begin. The project includes the widening of the roadway, utility upgrades, new curb and gutter, and new sidewalks.
Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times throughout construction with the exception of when CSX is reconstructing the railroad crossing. There will be a complete closure of the roadway during that time. A detour will be posted. The anticipated completion is August of 2014.
