AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A man has been charged in northeast Ohio in the slayings of his ex-girlfriend and their 5-year-old son.
Officers with a regional fugitive task force and Tallmadge police arrested 39-year-old Daniel Tighe of Akron on Thursday.
He was charged with murder in the death of 31-year-old Wendy Ralston, aggravated murder in the death of their son, Peyton, and domestic violence.
The woman's mother contacted police in August after she visited the home and discovered human remains there.
Tallmadge police Lt. Ronald Williams says the victims apparently were dead 18 days before the bodies were found. He says decomposition, a cleanup in the house and lack of a confession slowed the case.
No motive was specified.
