TROY, Ohio (WDTN) - Police are still searching for Jeff Bedinger, 51, on charges ofaggravated murder, kidnapping and abduction after the fatalshooting of the man's 22-year-old stepson.
Brandon Haskins, 22, was shot and killed at the Towne Parkapartments in Troy, Ohio Thursday afternoon.
Police said Bedinger left the scene with his 7-year-old son,Zane Bedinger. The boy was then the focus of a nationwide AmberAlert before being found safe Thursday night after being droppedoff at a relative's house in Carmel, Ind. The child was then takento a police station has since been returned to his mother in Troy,apparently unharmed, according to officers.
Investigators are still investigating what led up to theshooting. Officers said Bedinger was recently estranged from hiswife, the boys' mother. She had been living in the apartment wherethe shooting happened for about a month.
Jeff Bedinger is described as a white male with brown hair browneyes. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds.
He's believed to be driving a silver 2007 Honda Accord 4-doorwith Ohio license plate EDT6246.
Police said Bedinger is armed with a handgun and should beconsidered dangerous.
