Ferguson Enterprises broke ground Thursday for its new distribution center.
The distributor of plumbing and building supplies will invest $15 million to construct the new 350,000 square foot distribution center.
"We're excited to welcome Ferguson to Mercer County and the Dayton region," said Jared Ebbing Mercer County Director for Economic Development. "Our region is a prime location for a facility like this center-from an available workforce to a robust logistics and distribution supply chain, we provided a very attractive location for Ferguson."
Ferguson has more than 1,000 locations across the country, but the Celina center will be its first in Ohio.
"Ferguson's expansion into Ohio as a distribution hub is a great win for the region and the state," said Mark Patton, JobsOhio Managing Director for Logistics. "This project was successful because of the partnership effort between Mercer County, JobsOhio with its network partner the Dayton Development Coalition, and the State of Ohio. Ferguson's decision to establish a distribution center here reinforces the power of collaboration to create jobs for Ohioans."
Construction should be complete by the end of this year. The first shipments should leave the center early next year.
