COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - A Centerville dermatologist made his case in Columbus Wednesday about the dangers of tanning beds.
Dr. Karl Kellawan was among a group of doctors who met with state health officials to discuss the controversial tanning procedure.
"I think a lot of individuals are just not aware of the dangers of ultraviolet light radiation and I think for years it's been looked upon as a safe way to obtain a tan when in fact it does have it's hazards," said Dr. Kellawan.
Dr. Kellawan is a proponent of legislation that would ban the use of tanning beds for anyone under 18 years old.
Ohio would be only the third state to pass such legislation.
