DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton Children's Medical Center is building a better future for child abuse victims.
The Care House is starting to take shape. Organizers broke ground Wednesday. It will be the new home of Montgomery County's child advocacy center.
The new facility is on Valley Street near Dayton Children's.
"Unfortunately we have so many children in this community that have been the subject of child abuse and neglect. We need to provide them with the support they need," said Deborah Feldman, President and CEO of Dayton Children's.
The facility will cost $2.1 million, most of which came from a hospital fundraising campaign.
Care House is set to open in early 2014.
