SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) - Springboro school teachers ratified a new contract Monday evening. Now, the Board of Education is set to vote Tuesday evening.
An agreement was reached last week in the negotiations between the Springboro Community City Schools Board of Education and Springboro Education Association (SEA), according to Superintendent Todd Petrey.
Also last week, the board inked a new contract with the district's Classified employees.
The board approved the agreement with the Springboro Classified Employees Association (SCEA ), the union representing bus drivers, cafeteria workers and other non-teaching staff at its meeting July 11, said Kelly Kohls , board president.
"We are pleased with this agreement," said Kohls. "We now have an agreement that fits our plan to remain sustainable into the future."
Highlights of the agreement include:
- Step raises for three years
- $1,000 annual stipend for three years
- Employees will pay 20% for healthcare insurance, the district will pay 80% of the premium
- Contract period will be four years
