SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) - A retiring Springboro principal chimed in on the creationism debate at his retirement party Monday night.
Dr. Ron Malone will retire at the end of the month.
Students and parents rallied to keep him at the high school last year after he was slated to move to an administrative post.
Dr. Malone says while he has seen tremendous growth in the past 13 years, there are still struggles like Tuesday's expected school board vote on adding creationism to the science curriculum.
"It's one of those things that I think the community has to decide who they want teaching their children things of a religious nature," said Dr. Malone.
Malone's retirement party was held at Campioni's Pizzeria.
