2 NEWS has confirmed Patrick Pudlewski, 17, was killed in a collision on West Michigan Street around 11 AM. His father was also hurt.
Patrick was a junior at Lehman Catholic High School.
School officials said he was very sociable and well-liked.
"Last time I saw him would have been Friday, in the hall, and he was just like all of our kids," said Lehman Catholic's President Mike Barhorst. "Talking to his girlfriend and probably making plans to go to prom."
Patrick was on the Science Olympiad team. He had just participated in a state competition in Columbus the day before his death. One of his teachers believes he would have been one of her top students in her physics class next year.
"He was a vibrant young man with a future in front of him, instead, we are going to have a loss," said Sister Ginny Scherer. "He's had his internal reward so he's happy, but we can't be happy."
School officials said Patrick's father was in critical condition Sunday night. The crash remained under investigation.
