DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - It looks like a case of the munchies sent a man to illegal extremes.
Dayton police say Thomas Offinger, 57, ransacked a couple of Frito Lay trucks overnight Thursday.
Two employees of the Frito Lay Company on Kelly Avenue say they saw a man squeeze through the gate and head for at least one truck.
He loaded up a bag full of goodies and headed out. Police say he packed up 15 pounds of cookies, nuts and crackers.
Turns out, this isn't the first time workers say Offinger came calling. The employees told police he would occasionally get onto the lot and take items from the dumpster, but he's never hit the trucks until now. He was arrested for entering the property before.
Police say his munchie heist took only eight minutes.
They put out a call to find Offinger who is homeless and picked him up with his bag of snacks.
He is now in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of breaking and entering.
