MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Police in Moraine were called to a gas station early Friday morning on reports of a robbery.
Officials roped off the area around the Speedway at 2631 Alex Bell Road around 2:00 a.m.
Sgt. Michael Keegan told us the suspect walked into the gas station with a semi automatic handgun, jumped the counter, and stole money from the cash drawer.
We're told the suspect ran towards the parking lot of an apartment complex near the gas station.
Police dogs tracked a scent, but lost it where officials believed the suspect could have gotten into a car. The suspect also left behind a trail of bills.
Sgt. Keegan said the suspect was a black male, over six feet tall, and roughly 230 pounds. He was wearing a light gray hoodie, black cargo pants, black gloves, and a black ski mask.
Officials were looking at surveillance video from the Speedway. They said they would pass that on to us as soon as they can.
