DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The grand prize for the United Rehabilitation Services Rubber Duck Regatta was awarded Thursday.
The keys to the brand new 2013 Chevy Spark were handed to Zachary Darner, whose mother, Melissa, bought the ticket for him.
Her duck was the first to finish the regatta last month.
17,000 ducks took part in the race along the Great Miami River through downtown Dayton with Melissa's coming out on top.
Darner immediately turned the keys over to her young son who is learning to drive.
"We had a great time today. We gave away the 2013 Chevy Spark as part of the 10th annual Rubber Duck Regatta and it was great to see a young man win this, somebody that will really appreciate it and get a lot of use out of this thing," said Dennis Grant, Executive Director of URS.
