DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Students, faculty and staff filled Sears Recital Hall on the University of Dayton campus Sunday to take part in discussions surrounding U.S. diplomacy and the Vatican.
The University's new Professor of Faith and Culture and former US Ambassador to the Holy See, Dr. Miquel Diaz, led the discussion along with his wife, Dr. Marian Diaz, who is also a new faculty member in religious studies at the university.
The couple talked about their experiences in the Embassy in Rome and their thoughts about the future direction of the United States' relations with the Vatican.
Dr. Miquel Diaz also presented a slideshow that broke down the process in voting a new Pope to lead the Catholic church.
