DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Dayton teacher convicted of hitting a student in a wheelchair will not spend time behind bars.
Prosecutors confirm Georgia Cox was sentenced Tuesday to up to five years probation.
A jury found her guilty of assault by a caretaker in June.
Cox hit a 16-year-old student in the Meadowdale High School Cafeteria back in October.
The student has several disabilities and limited verbal skills.
We're told the State Board of Education will be notified of her felony conviction.
