DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - If you want to smoke on the University of Dayton's campus, you'll now have to do it at one of 13 smoking shelters.
That goes for fans at UD Arena as well.
University officials say students and employees were overwhelmingly in favor of it.
You already couldn't smoke in the University's buildings.
We asked the Vice President of Facilities Management if this is going too far.
"Given that smokers can go to city streets or sidewalks, if you take that into account, there are still plenty of areas," said Beth Keyes, VP of Facility Management.
The school tells us this is a step toward making the campus completely smoke free.
Officials say they are offering help for those on campus who want to quit smoking.
A portion of Little York Road in Butler Township is closed to traffic until this evening.
