KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Most people like Ben Banning spent the day digging out from the snow.
"It's freezing and I'm hot and sweaty and it's rough," says Ben Banning.
He's a fulltime student and Wright State University didn't have a snow day.
"It's a huge hassle. Going to school all day is already a drain and it wears you out and then having to come home and do all this extra stuff is exhausting," explains Banning.
He lives along one of the busiest roads in Kettering. That's why he has to shovel in order to stay safe.
"I try and shovel the snow now so it doesn't turn into ice and get hard in the night, making it harder. It's already hard to pull out of my driveway into the middle of Far Hills. It's even harder when I slide pulling out," comments Banning.
Just down the road in Centerville, crews were out all day clearing and salting the roads.
"The roads turned out awesome. The temperature worked with us. So, that was a big factor in helping us," says Centerville Public Works Driver & Group Leader Brad Kavalunas.
But now many roads are wet which could create slick spots for you.
"There could be some refreeze as the salt works and turns the ice and snow to water, it could refreeze tonight. So, just be careful and watch out for black ice. Looks like the temperature is going to hover right around freezing tonight so there very well could be some treacherous spots," warns Centerville Public Works Director Rob James.
