DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton police are investigating after a CCW holder opens fire on two men he said attempted to rob him.
One suspect was taken to the hospital with a gun shot wound to the back. He is expected to survive.
The other suspect was taken into custody to be questioned by police.
Police were called to a home in the 80 block of Norman Avenue around 2:15 p.m. Sunday. The victim told investigators he was doing work in the backyard of the house when two men approached him, demanded his belongings, then pulled out a gun.
The victim, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, fired several rounds from his pistol before one of the suspects could pull his trigger.
The suspects then fled the scene, but officers brought in a K9 unit and found both men nearby in an alleyway.
One of the suspects suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
