DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Police tell 2 NEWS they have a person of interest in connection to the shooting death of a pregnant woman.
2 NEWS investigated and learned the 20-year-old Dayton man was arrested on drug charges on Stewart Street and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail at 1 a.m. this morning. 2 NEWS has chosen not to release the person of interest's name because he has not been formally charged.
Police said they are waiting on ballistics test to determine if his gun was was the one used in the shooting.
David Foster, Da'lyne's father, 2 NEWS that he didn't "have any anger (toward the shooter). I've forgiven him because what awaits him is a lot worse than me, or the community, could ever do to him",
This is the second person of interest the police identified in this case. The first was cleared after ballistics test proved his gun did not fire the fatal shot.
"We thought we had it done yesterday and then it was like taking a stomach punch," said Sgt. Richard Blommel with the Dayton Police Department Homicide Division. "It sucked the air out of you and then we got this thing last night. We are all holding our breath".
Officers were called to the DeSoto Bass housing complex June 19 after two women got into a fight that ended with shots fired.
