ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - The Northmont Academic Challenge Team knows history. The team won its second national bowl title in as many years. No other team has accomplished that.
The high school team competed in the National History Bowl in Washington, D.C. this past weekend.
Sam Blizzard, Tori Amos, Robbie Spilker and Rachel Tracy make up Northmont's team.
The history buffs competed against 65 other teams from around the world to win the title.
It took a sudden death tie-breaker to finally claim victory, but they did it. They defeated the top seeded Centennial High School team from Maryland in the championship round.
