DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Local volunteers gather today to participate in National Day of Action, calling on Congress to act to reduce gun violence.
The group will met at Courthouse Square for a noontime rally.
They're urging Congress to listen to 92 percent of Americans who they say support universal background checks.
Organizing for Action volunteers, along with coalition partners, including Mayors Against Illegal Guns, who have targeted key members of Congress with TV ads in several states, will host over 100 events nationwide.
Organizers hope this National Day of Action will pressure those members of Congress to reduce gun violence in America.
