CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Centerville city leaders met Tuesday evening to debate a plan that would bring a Costco store to the community. It voted to approve the plan, but eight conditions must be met first.
Among them, a nearby gas station must be moved to keep traffic flowing properly.
The planning commission met well into the evening with developers to outline the conditions.
The plan calls for Costco to anchor a new development called Cornerstone to be built on the former Dille property at the corner of Feedwire Road and Wilmington Pike.
It would also include more retail, restaurants, office space and a hotel.
Commissioners say they want to be sure it is a good fit for the area. Costco hopes to build a 148,000 square foot membership warehouse club.
