VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) - The mother of a 17-month-old boy who died after police say he suffered abuse is now charged with murder.
According the Montgomery County Prosecutor's office, Chrystal Laurel was arraigned on a murder charge Thursday in connection with the death. She was ordered held on $1,000,000 bond.
Laurel, and her boyfriend, Dustin Rybak,were already charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangering and tampering with evidence. Laurel's charge was upgraded to murder.
Laurel and Rybak took Takota to Dayton Children's Hospital in early April. He died several days later.
A Clark County man pled not guilty to a charges of child endangering, assault, and domestic violence Monday.
The Logan County band director convicted on sex charges involving students was sentenced Monday afternoon.
