DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Riverside Police are still searching for several suspects they said led officers on a high speed chase after burglarizing a home Thursday night.
Since then, police said late Friday morning, another vehicle has been reported stolen and it may be tied to the wanted men.
Officials described the suspects as three black men-- one with a medium build, gray plaid shirt, dark pants, and the short start of dreadlocks.
The second suspect is described as having an athletic build and wearing a black bandana with white paisley print.
Police said the third suspect is smaller than the other two men.
Multiple police crews had a wide area around the area of State Route 4 and Huffman Dam blocked off as they searched for the suspects.
Officers tell us the suspects were involved in a burglary on Silver Oak Street in Riverside when the homeowner came home. He was able to give a good description of the vehicle and police tracked the suspects quickly.
There was a short chase which ended when the suspects crashed their car at Union Road and Lower Valley Pike in Greene County. Officers say that area is actually federal property. It's right next to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Officers say the suspects ran through a wooded area south of Bath Road. They also approached a woman who was retrieving mail and asked her for a ride, but she refused.
Multiple crews searched the ground, while a helicopter also searched from the sky.
Dispatchers say they are using extra caution as they believe at least one of the suspects is armed. They warn residents to be on alert as the suspects may come knocking on doors, looking for help.
The missing pickup truck is described as a white, 2004 Ford Ranger. It has Ohio License Plate FWH 7659.
