DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton man is behind bars after officers say he became combative with a man singing Christmas carols and threatened him with a knife.
Officers were originally dispatched to an apartment complex in the 100 block of East Helena Street Friday night.
Police said 47-year-old Willie Bonner Jr. came into the lobby of the apartment building heavily intoxicated and looking to start a fight.
Officers said Bonner became agitated with a man singing Christmas carols, retrieved a knife from his apartment, waived it at the victim, and threatened to kill him.
Bonner told officers he was using the knife to eat.
Bonner was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on aggravated menacing.
Police are still investigating the incident.
