DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The newest report of a robbery at the University of Dayton turned out to be a hoax.
The university's Department of Public Safety issued a safety advisory Thursday evening indicating the report from just after midnight Thursday was not real.
Officers spent the day investigating the robbery claim. They re-interviewed the student who said he was robbed in a university parking lot.
That student finally admitted that he made the whole story up.
There have been six reported incidents of robberies or attempts at and around U.D. in the last month.
