Miami Township, Ohio (WDTN) - A West Carrollton man is dead after an apparent robbery attempt turned into a fight.
Phillip P. Ochen, 20, was found in the rear of the Knolls Apartments at 2963 Knollridge Drive, according Miami Township Detective Scott Fitzgerald, after residents reported hearing screams around 11 p.m. Dec. 2, and called the police. He had been stabbed in the throat.
Fitzgerald told 2 NEWS is started when three men and a juvenile female arranged to buy marijuana with the intent to rob the dealer.
When the alleged drug dealer, along with a friend, arrived, Fitzgerald said Ochen attacked him with a baseball bat. The man then pulled a knife and stabbed Ochen.
Police later arrested the other two men and the girl they said planned the robbery. The men have since been released. The girls is still being held.
Fitzgerald said detectives have identified the stabber and his friend, but they have not yet been taken into custody.
Fitzgerald said the value of the drugs involved in the attempted robbery were worth less than $100.
