KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - A Kettering School Board member has been charged with sexual imposition and disorderly conduct.
James S. Trent, 80, was ordered into Kettering Municipal Court to face the charges stemming from a Sept. 13 incident.
Kettering Police Chief James M. O’Dell said in a news conference Friday afternoon that the incident happened in the woman’s home.
According to police records, the 22-year-old woman told investigators that Trent grabbed her buttocks.
Police issued Trent a citation on Sept. 18. Trent will be arraigned on Sept. 26.
Kettering City Schools named the basketball arena at Fairmont High School after Trent when it opened.
Kettering City Schools Superintendent Jim Schoenlein told 2 NEWS he couldn’t comment on the case.
"I have always known Jim Trent to be of impeccable character. He has been of great service to this school district for many years. Since this is a legal proceeding- it would be inappropriate for me to comment."
2 NEWS called Trent for comment but he has not responded.
