DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting on Dayton's east side.
Investigators say a man was shot in the alley that runs behind 78 Linden Avenue around 3:30 Thursday afternoon.
The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was rushed into surgery. Police say he was shot at least once in the stomach.
A neighbor said he heard four gunshots.
Police are searching for the suspect right now, but they only have a vague description to go by.
"They came in the front window, went through gifts, unwrapped all the gifts they could find to see what they could take, snatched the TV off the wall, snatched the computer."
The tentative plan calls for the fairgrounds to be build on the northeast corner of the Arlington Road and Interstate 70 intersection.
Police said they were last seen about 12 hours ago, but officers are concerned because both have Alzheimer's.
"The suspects kicked the children out of the car, left them in the cold and took off," said Sgt. Mark Ponichtera.
Only on 2, after nearly six months since the air show disaster Dayton Airport firefighters are ready to tell the public they did everything "humanly possible" in response to the crash.
