KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Three people were taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after a second story deck collapsed at a Kettering apartment complex.
The collapse happened at the Georgetown Apartments at 101 Sheringham Court just off of Far Hills Avenue.
Eyewitnesses say three people were smoking on a second floor balcony when it gave way.
The victims were banged up, but should be fine.
The building manager says investigators don't know what caused the balcony to collapse.
An air conditioning unit was damaged, so mangers brought in portable units for the tenants.
APM Management took control of the property in 2012. It has been renovating the complex, including replacing rails on balconies and installing new windows.
