DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A longtime member of Dayton Public Schools announced his retirement Tuesday night.
Stan Lucas told the school board he's stepping down from his position as chief financial officer and treasurer.
Lucas says he consulted with his wife, close friends and doctor before making the difficult decision.
"As a district, we have faced many financial challenges over the past ten years, and ten years seems like a long time, but I remember day one as if it were yesterday," said Lucas.
Lucas went on to thank his wife, and everyone else who supported him over the years.
His retirement takes effect October 31, 2012.
