DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton home sales are on the rise. Sales rose 11.3 percent in May.
Nearly 1,300 single family homes sold in Dayton with an average sale price of $130,000.
Overall, sales at the beginning of this year have far exceeded last year's start.
Area realtors say the numbers show a changing trend.
"It's a continuation of the wonderful trend continuing home sales of all year, it actually started last year, we've been having an ongoing upward trend and it's a very healthy indication of the real estate market that has completely turned around," said Nancy Farkas, President, Dayton Area Board of Realtors.
Farkas says here in the Miami Valley that home markets are slowly beginning to shift into both a buyers and sellers market.
