KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - The southbound lanes of Interstate 675 were closed following two accidents late Friday night.
Police closed the interstate around the 9 mile marker, near the Wilmington Pike exit. It was expected to open partially sometime around midnight, with the entire southbound lanes reopening expected sometime around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
The first accident happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday night. Then about 30 minutes later, the second accident happened.
In the first, officers said the driver somehow veered off the road and into a tree. Officials told 2 News the driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
While traffic had slowed for that accident, a second crash occurred with 2 cars colliding. Officers called it minor but with the previous crash, it was enough for officers to completely close down the Southbound lanes while they completed their investigation.
