DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Thousands gathered at Welcome Stadium Sunday for the 13th annual Blessing of the Bikes and bike show.
The festivities began at 10 a.m. and included a stunt show, awards, food, entertainment, and door prizes.
Blessing of the Bikes provides an opportunity for all motorcycle riders to have their bikes blessed for a safe season, while at the same time providing an opportunity for camaraderie and friendship among the motorcycle community.
This year's event was also dedicated to honoring all veterans. Through the Veterans Cycle Program, specially built bikes were given to local disabled and homeless veterans.
GreeneBucs partnered with the Dayton VA Medical Center to raise the funds for the trykes. Three veterans from the Dayton VAMC received bikes.
Proceeds from the event will go towards A Special Wish Foundation as well as GreeneBucs.
