DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Air Force officer convicted of touching two women inappropriately was sentenced in Dayton Municipal Court Tuesday morning.
Judge Christopher Roberts imposed a 60-day suspended jail term on Air Force Colonel Mayan Shah, along with three years probation and 180 days of home detention. In addition, Shah was ordered to not attend festivals, nightclubs or bars during his period of probation.
The judge also designated Shah a Tier 1 sex offender, meaning he must register with the county sheriff at least once annually for a period of 15 years. In addition, he must register any change of residential address, place of employment, or enrollment in a school or institution of higher education.
The victims, who were both workers at the Pub's booth at Dayton's Alefest in August 2012, testified they were taking a group picture when Shah tried to lift up one of their skirts. They say he did it again this time touching one woman inappropriately.
"I was in shock. I just felt really violated," testified one of Shah's victims at his trial.
At the time of the trial, Air Force officials told 2 NEWS they have zero tolerance for sexual imposition but can't discuss any administrative actions they may take because of privacy laws.
Shah's attorney, Richard Skelton, said the 24-year veteran plans to retire from the military.
It could be a big day in the on-going contract negotiations for Fairborn teachers and the school board.
When police and firefighters arrived, Kettering Fire Lt. Craig Moore said the victim was trying to go back inside the burning home.
