KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Stroop Road is once again open to traffic at Southern Boulevard in Kettering after a five car collision.
Rescue crews responded there just before 5:00 pm.
Investigators say two cars were stopped at the red light on Stroop Road heading west. They say a pickup truck came up from behind and tried to wedge in between the cars. It ended up going airborne and hit an oncoming car.
The pickup hit a fourth car before finally coming to a rest.
The driver of the pickup was hurt and removed right up the street to Kettering Medical Center. None of the other drivers were hurt.
The road will remain closed until crews can clean up the debris that is strewn across the roadway.
Officers are investigating whether the pickup driver was drinking. They say they did find an empty beer bottle in the truck. A crash reconstruction team is also at the scene.
