HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - One teenager has died and one is critically injured after crashing their car in Harrison Township shorty before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers said 19-year-old Mitchell Haber of Centerville was driving north on Brantford Road when he lost control, drove off the left side of the road, and struck a tree and utility pole. The vehicle then overturned and struck another tree, ejecting Haber.
Haber died from his injuries at Miami Valley Hospital.
Haber's passenger, 19-year-old Alex C. Lovett of Centerville, was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by rescue personnel from Harrison and Butler Twps.
Lovett is in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
Troopers said speed is a factor in the crash and the driver, Mitchell Haber, was not wearing his safety belt.
The crash is still under investigation.
2 News has learned both Haber and Lovett are Centerville High School graduates.
The community will be gathering at Centerville High School at 8 p.m. Sunday for a prayer vigil. All are welcome to attend.
