WEST MILTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a five-vehicle fatal crash on S.R. 48 Saturday afternoon.
According to troopers, 58-year-old David Baker was driving north on S.R. 48 on his motorcycle when he collided with 36-year-old Jeffrey Bayless who was also riding north on a motorcycle.
Both motorcycles then slammed into the back of a car driven by 65-year-old Timothy Elliot, who had stopped to let traffic out of the Fraternal Order of Eagles lot.
Troopers said the two motorcycles then hit two motorcycles in the southbound lanes driven by 45-year-old Brian Wright and 55-year-old Garry Norris.
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office pronounced David Baker dead at the scene. Sixty-six-year-old Louise Baker was a passenger on David Baker's motorcycle. She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bayless and Wright were taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. Norris was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was treated and released.
The accident remains under investigation.
