WEST LIBERTY, Ohio (WDTN) - The 8-year-old struck and killed while crossing a West Liberty street, March 28, will be laid to rest Tuesday, April 2.
The funeral for Colton Furrow will be held at 10 a.m. at the First Church of God, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.
Colton was struck while he and and his brother were walking to their baby sitter's house. He was struck in the 300 block of North Detroit Street.
West Liberty Police Chief Shane Oelker said the boys waited for a van to pass, but their view was obstructed when they walked into the street. He said Colton's brother called out to him to stop, but the boy was hit.
Furrow was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, Gene Rainsburg , 52, of Kenton, will not be charged.
