YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) - A Yellow Springs swimming pool that shut down after village workers accidentally sprayed a full concentrate weed killer on the grass is open again.
Gaunt Park Pool temporarily closed after a herbicide known as Escalade 2 was sprayed in the grassy areas surrounding the pool last week. A diluted solution was supposed to be used to take care of a bee problem.
Several people who were at the pool since then have complained of headaches and rashes.
As a result, village officials closed the pool last Friday and had experts take soil and water samples.
The water sample didn't have any traceable amounts of the herbicide, but the soil sample had to be sent to the Ohio Department of Agriculture for analysis.
It has since been determined the pool area is safe.
