CEDARVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Former Arkansas Governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee addressed the Washington Navy Yard shootings Tuesday evening at Cedarville University.
He was at the Greene County campus for a current events presentation.
Huckabee says it is violent occurrences like the shootings in Washington that remind us that every day is precious.
"I think about those twelve people who went to work yesterday at the navy yard who thought they were not only going to work at the navy yard, but they were going to work at an extraordinarily safe place," said Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee also addressed the importance of good, strong leadership from the United States and other world powers when it comes to fighting the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
This year, they will help 13 families in need buy toys, clothing and other items.
