XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Firefighters were called out for a house fire on Xenia Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported in a small frame house in the 100 block of Cato Drive around 1:30.
Travis Gilliam and his 5-year old son were home at the time of the fire. The boy woke his father up to escape.
Firefighters treated the family dog for smoke inhalation and it's expected to be okay.
No other injuries were reported.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
This year, they will help 13 families in need buy toys, clothing and other items.
