DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A teen is facing charges in connection with a crash that left three students dead in Sugarcreek Township last November.
2 NEWS has learned the driver Jesse Whitaker now faces three counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular manslaughter and failure to control.
Whitaker was behind the wheel of a pickup truck when it left the road and struck a tree along Wagner Road on Nov. 4, 2012. He will face prosecution in Greene County Juvenile Court because he was 17 at the time of the crash.
The crash left 17-year-old Sophie Kerrigan, 16-year-old Skylar Kooken, and 14-year-old Julianna Hawk dead. Two others were injured.
